“In doing yoga, we are gradually awakening to a clearer and truer understanding of who we are in our deepest, innermost being.”
Sometimes we come to believe that yoga consists of the ability to do postures well and that its primary concern is our physical body. But here’s a great way of looking at our practice from yoga instructor Mark Stephens:
“In doing yoga, we are gradually awakening to a clearer and truer understanding of who we are in our deepest, innermost being.”

The first of every month is a great time to re-commit to practice...especially during the more active months in Minnesota! Not only does our body benefit from the balance that comes from yoga practice--as we heighten and refine our inner experience, our outer world reflects this beauty that lives within us!
Working toward our “edge” in our postures invites us to discover the boundaries of our comfort zone…this is where transformation and growth will begin to take place. Perhaps pay particular attention to this today during your active postures!
Each week (really, each moment of each day, week etc.) we have the opportunity to start anew by observing where we’re at and taking a deep breath with positive thoughts surrounding us. Then, see what happens…
Your yoga practice will also give you this opportunity each week, but a chance to observe and renew for a bit longer…hope to see you at practice today! |
